Berkeley Continuous Media Toolkit Version 4.0

Continuous Media Player (CMPlayer)

Screen shot of CMPlayer

The CMPlayer is a continuous media application that is capable of playing MPEG-I video, MJPEG video, 8 KHz ulaw audio, 8 bit linear audio, and 16 bit linear audio. The CMPlayer can be used to play files on local filesystems as well as files on a remote CM video file server.

The CMPlayer is written in TCL and is provided with CMT as a set of tcl scripts. It can also be built into a self-contained, standalone binary application that can be run on systems that don't have TCL/TK/CMT installed. We have precompiled versions of the standalone CMPlayer available for the following platforms, or you can build your own using the source included in the CMT 4 Full Toolkit Distribution.

After getting the CMPlayer, you can try it out from your web browser by setting your helper application for ``application/cmplay'' to cmplayer and then visiting our CM Video File Server with your web browser. To do this on UNIX, add the following line to your personal mailcap file:

application/cmplay; cmplayer %s > /dev/null
